Katara
Katara is Waterbender girl character from anime-cartoon TV show Avatar: The Last Airbender. It is well known and very closely related to the Aang character. She helped Aang throughout his mission to save the world from the Fire Nation. Katara had supernatural powers and she could control the water, so she was called the Waterbender. Managing the water she could not only cause the water overwhelming force, but also could freeze it, and in this way she could stop completely her opponents. She was the rest of the tribe and the only one who was able to manage the water.
One day their village was attacked by Fire Nation warriors. Mother for rescuing Katara as the daughter and the rest of their tribe Waterbender, in exchange she gave herself and was killed. As there was a war her dad was away. He was helping the other Water Nation soldiers in the fight against Fire Nation. Therefore, she has remained only with her brother - Sokka.
Once, when they were fishing, Katara with her entertaining brother Sokka found an iceberg where a man was frozen. She had used her powers and melt an iceberg. They saw that there was a boy and a bison. It was the Avatar - Aang and his flying bison - Appa. It was the first time when they meet, and even then it was possible to note that she liked Aang more than just a friend.
Of course the same has been and from Aang's side. At the beginning, they both sympathized with one another, but later they fell in love. This can be seen in various situations, their actions, gestures and expressions, kisses in the cheek, how their cheeks goes blush, and how they take care of each other.
Katara was a very caring, kind, character. She wanted to help everybody. She was even a little maternal, although she was only 14 years old. Maybe that was because she had lost her mother early, and she had to take care about her home and brother.
Katara was a very sincere and sensitive girl. She couldn't turn her back to people who needed help. Because she was inexperienced, young Waterbender, traveling with Aang, she wanted to learn how to manage water better. She also had supernatural healing powers and was able to heal wounded.
It was a situation when Aang was in Avatar's status he was hurt by Azula lightning. She unexpectedly struck him from behind. She nearly had killed him after the attack on the Aang back, left a huge wound, which was healed by Katara with her powers and water from the Spirit Oasis. After the attack's Avatar remained unconscious for several weeks.
Traveling young Waterbender found a manuscript of the sayings how best to manage the water. And she together with Aang began to study. Aang got better and faster uptake, but for her it was quite difficult, so sometimes she got angry, because from the minority, she was Waterbender.
Later she met one of the best Waterbender Masters. Avatar and Katara wanted to learn the art of water management from him. However, the master agreed to teach only the Avatar, since he was not teaching women. He believed that women should only treat. However, she disagreed and wanted to learn. Therefore, Aang and Katara agreed that during the day Master will teach Aang, and on the evenings Aang will teach her. But, one evening the Master saw everything, and refused to teach even the Avatar. Katara was very angry because of this, and she quarreled with Master and called him to a duel.
She wanted to prove that she can not only treat, but also she is good on managing the water. During the fight she tried her best. The fight was really impressive, but old Master was unrivaled and unbeatable, and she lost this battle.
When she lived in her land, her grandmother gave her a pendant. She was wearing it on her neck all the time. After the fight, she noticed that she had lost it. And when the old Waterbender Master wanted to leave her defeated, he noticed that necklace on the ground. He lifted it and very surprised. It was the same necklace that he gave long time ago to his fiancee, which was Katara's grandmother.
Aware of the circumstances the old master agreed to teach both. When Katara was learning she was very endeavoring, and she significantly improved. She even outran Aang. When it came time to leave, before goodbye Master told her that she had learned everything, and he called her - Master. And to Aang he said that now Aang has other water master - Katara.
